I'm Ian Hoey. My friends call me "Hoey". I'm first and foremost a lucky husband to my beautiful wife and a proud father of two amazing boys and most recently a gorgeous daughter (not pictured, she’s brand new!).
I’m a seasoned manager, leader, and creative, with a strong focus on product development, marketing, and merchandise management. I consider myself a ‘Dadtrepreneur’ with an ‘Intrapreneur’ approach. I’m expert in business strategy, visual merchandising, cross-functional communication, managing and developing a product (digital or physical) from ideation to process design, with a strong expertise in eCommerce and vendor relationships. I have created a product from initial idea, to production, and through its life cycle, even getting my hands dirty and shipping the product myself.
As a consultant, I have created multi-million dollar programs for start-ups, increasing top line revenue for medium to large publicly owned organizations, sports franchises, clothing brands, and Grammy award nominated artists. I have worn many hats in my career – developer, merchant, buyer, designer, manager, marketer, and strategist. I was once told by a previous CEO that my “positivity shifted the team dynamic upward, therefore we created an ‘Ian-effect’ KPI.”
I pride myself on being well-rounded and versatile, finding excitement in new challenges and growth opportunities. I’ve lead a team of 2, to a team of 200 to an ultimate goal, leading with passion and purpose. I've worked with incredible people and companies such as TILLYS, SONY, Marvel, NFL, and FTD inc., to my current role at Balsam Brands. For me, it's never a bad day, just a great chance to grow.
